PERFORMANCES
Free Noon Hour Concert (Tuesday): You may recall from a posting a few weeks ago that Roy Thomson Hall hosts a series of choir and organ concerts that are delightful, free, and conveniently timed to coordinate with your lunch! Today at noon the second of the series takes place: the Victoria Scholars Men’s Choral Ensemble & the Senior Choir of St. Michael’s Choir School perform in A Christmas Celebration.
CBC’s Great Canadian Song Quest (Tuesday): We’re most excited about the existence of this project, and even more excited about the opportunity to check out some of Canada’s best singer-songwriter talent tonight. Performing songs they’ve specially crafted about Canadian places, your faves and mine will be performing, including Chantal Kreviazuk, Hawksley Workman, Joel Plaskett, and Catherine MacLellan.
Nathaniel Dett Chorale (Wednesday and Saturday): The Nathaniel Dett Chorale performs the seasonal tradition: An Indigo Christmas. Pairing traditional and contemporary holiday music, the Chorale will warm your winter with these very special presentations.
Matthew Good (Friday and Saturday): Mr. Good performs for two nights at Massey Hall. He released a double-disc entitled Live at Massey Hall last year, so we know that he’s a fan of the Hall. This year’s release, Vancouver debuted at #2 on the charts and has been acclaimed as a fitting follow-up to the Matthew Good Band’s 2001 issue, The Audio of Being.
